The Story Behind Otramunda
Welcome to Otramunda, an independent jewellery label based in Breda, the Netherlands. Most Otramunda pieces are designed and assembled by hand, using distinctive materials sourced from around the world. Each design tells a visual story of its own.
Behind Otramunda is Ingrid, the creative force and maker behind the collection. She began making jewellery at the age of twenty and went on to create pieces for a number of shops. Although she stepped away from jewellery-making for a while, her love of beads and beautiful materials never disappeared. Now that life allows her more time, she has returned to her worktable and to the joy of creating jewellery once again.
A carefully selected range of stainless steel jewellery completes the collection, chosen for its beauty and the way it combines with the handmade pieces.
Ingrid shares her home with Eli, a Spanish rescue dog she adopted. Alongside Otramunda, she runs an online academy where she teaches Human Design. She has a deep interest in coaching, personal development and everything that makes people who they are.
Travelling is another great love, with India in particular, holding a special place in her heart. She is also the proud mother of three grown-up children. Life is full, colourful and, as far as Ingrid is concerned, every day is something to celebrate.
